About Our
Summer Program |
Realizing that there was a need for after school care, the School Age Summer Program began in 1973. Activities for this group, ages 6 to 13, are busy and varied.
During the summer months, the children are introduced to the Lla-Nanny Llama Farm which is located in Grayson, Kentucky. Here, the children are assigned to their own llama, where they will learn to care for all of their needs, as well as, how to present the llama in a competitive atmosphere. Here, at the center, we believe that this will teach the children many things, most importantly, self-esteem. |
We will also continue to enjoy swimming, roller skating, bowling, fishing, hiking, going on picnics and many other activities, each day of the week. Throughout the summer, we are constantly on the go, but we still make time to stop for a good lunch and some quiet time. During these times, you can catch us relaxing, by doing some arts and craft activities, working a puzzle or playing games at the center.
Each year, we take part in going on several big trips. We like visiting the Columbus Zoo and the Ohio State Llama Show located in Columbus, Ohio, as well as, the Beach Water Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. We strive to keep the program varied enough for all to enjoy, and just busy enough to keep the summertime blues at bay. |
