About Our After School Care |
 |
In 1986, we became aware of the need for after school care located
at our elementary schools. What were the working parents to do?
So, we went to the School Board
of the Ashland School System and received permission to use certain facilities for the
"Get-Along-Gangs" at Hager, Oakview, Crabbe & Hatcher Elementary schools. We, now, have children from Hager,
Oakview, Crabbe, Hatcher & Charles Russell (when there's a demand).
The children receive a snack and then have many options for
activities. Some choose to do homework to free up time at home. Others wish to pursue an
activity completely different from school - art, puzzles, games. When the weather is agreeable,
there is often a ball game or similar activity in progress. For those needing evening care,
our bus takes them to 1516 Central Avenue at 5:30 p.m. |
 |
On ´Star Days, Snow Days, and Holidays, these children come to the
downtown center. As with the Summer Program, there is usually a special activity planned -
skating, a movie, bowling or the park. ´
Open M-F from School Dismissal to 6:30 p.m.
Providing a snack. Supper is provided during Evening Care at 5:30.
